Butyl Sealant Sigma Blade Mixer

Sigma mixer is used for mixing and kneading for mixing, kneading of highly viscous mass, sticky and sealant like product.
Produt Details

Sigma mixer is a twin-arm mixing device featuring two "∑"-shaped blades mounted within a W-shaped mixing cylinder. These blades rotate relative to each other at the same or different speeds. This twin-blade bowl kneader is equipped with two horizontally arranged kneading blades that mesh and alternately rotate via a deep gear drive. Each blade propels the material in the opposite direction, causing the various ingredients to continuously circulate within the tank, resulting in thorough mixing. A small gap is maintained between the blades and the tank walls, as well as between the blades themselves, to ensure excellent mixing. The shearing and tearing action generated by this small gap helps reduce the size of solid particles. Further superior mixing performance can be achieved by selecting appropriate blade structures and rotational speeds.

Features of Butyl Sealant Sigma Blade Mixer

  1. Two agitators are mounted within a W-shaped horizontal mixing tank.
  2. Common impeller types include Sigma impellers, chewing impellers, propeller impellers, cutting impellers, and Nanoburn impellers.
  3. The impellers can be designed to rotate tangentially or partially overlap within the tank.
  4. A small gap of approximately 3-4mm is typically maintained between the impellers and the tank wall, and between the two impellers themselves.
  5. The mixing tank can be equipped with a jacketed structure for circulating heating or cooling media.
  6. The equipment can handle materials with viscosities up to 10 million cP.
  7. During mixing, high-viscosity materials experience continuous friction against the tank wall under the action of the impellers, undergoing stretching, shearing, compression, kneading, and folding.
  8. The optimal loading rate is typically 60%–70% of the mixing tank volume.
  9. Mix homogeneity can reach approximately 99%.
  10. Power per unit volume ranges from 45–75 kW/m³.
  11. Material is discharged through the bottom outlet.
  12. The bottom outlet valve can be used with an extruder or screw extruder to discharge material.

Applications of Sigma Blade Mixer

Sigma mixer has a wide range of applications, serving multiple industries. Whether in the chemical, dye, coating, polymer, polyester putty, plastics, pharmaceutical, or food industries, Sigma mixers can meet the mixing and kneading needs of various high-viscosity or viscous materials. Below are some of the most common applications:

Food Industry: Suitable for the processing and fine mixing of various food raw materials, such as finely milled wheat flour, white sauce, chocolate, bubble gum, chewing gum, biscuit dough, baking dough, sugar paste, and the processing of compound asafoetida and asafoetida, etc.

Paint and solvent industry: Suitable for mixing and kneading a variety of high-viscosity materials, such as polyester putty, glass putty, adhesives, sealants, glass fiber resin paste, polyester composites, primers, brake pad materials, and various resins and adhesives.

Rubber Industry: Suitable for mixing and kneading various rubber materials, such as mixing rubber solutions with silicone rubber, processing hard pastes, silicone rubber, viscous rubber solutions, sealants, and butyl rubber.

Fast-moving consumer goods industry: Applicable to the mixed processing of various daily chemical products, such as liquid soap, liquid detergent, soap granules, soap and detergent mixtures, as well as the processing of materials related to ceramic products.

Other applications: Suitable for mixing and processing a variety of materials, such as printing inks, iron compound dispersions, ceramic powders, crayon and pencil lead materials, gaskets and fillers, grinding wheel formulations, hot melt adhesives, pigments and ink products, marzipan, sealants, metal powders, molding materials, erasers, pharmaceutical preparations, plastics, putty, refractory materials, magnetic tape coating materials, ceramic materials, carbon black, carbon paste, PVC coatings, rubber composites, glass fibers, greases, lead-acid battery materials, zirconium crucibles, dough ingredients, and solid propellants, etc.

Sigma Blade Mixer Advantages

  1. Employs helical gear or hardened gear reducers, ensuring smooth transmission, low noise, and long service life with the main unit.
  2. The mixing paddle and inner wall of the mixing tank are made of SS304 or SS316 to ensure product purity.
  3. Advanced shaft seal structure for excellent sealing performance. A uniquely designed vacuum chamber balancing structure ensures no black material is produced during grinding.
  4. Integrated electrical controls (main unit operation, hydraulic cylinder tilting, hydraulic lid opening, and constant temperature control) and temperature control and display facilitate operation and process control.
  5. Can be heated and vacuumed.
